LEGION T5 26AMR5: BLUETOOTH NOT WORKING AFTER WINDOWS 10 PRO UPGRADE (UPDATE 2)
OK this one took me forever (2 days) to track down. After putting a fresh install of Windows 10 Professional onto the LEGION T5, it would not recognize that the PC even had a bluetooth card. Nothing in device manager, no amount of installing or reinstalling or deleting would bring up anything bluetooth related. I ran diagnostics from Lenovo and Intel, none of them showed I even had a Bluetooth Card.
I opened a chat windows with Lenovo Legion Ultimate Tech Support, and the tech kept going down the driver route, and would not listen when I told them that there not even anything in device manager. In otherwords there was no need for a driver for no device. About every 3rd question was "go to device manager and click on bluetooth and uninstall existing driver". There was nothing there to click.
Once I told them I had upgraded to Windows 10 PRO, they told me I had voided the warranty and was on my own. Thanks a bunch Lenovo.
So the next day I was determined to crawl every corner of the internet to find an answer (short of tossing the PC into the lake).
I found an obscure post on a German website that roughly translated to what I was experiencing. (Upgrading to Windows 10 Pro killed BlueTooth).
HERE IS THE FIX (ARE YOU READY) IT IS VERY COMPLEX, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION.
STEP 1:
Press and Hold Down the Power Button on top of the case for about 30 seconds, at the same time Pull the Power Cord from the PC.
STEP 2:
After 30 seconds let go of the power button and plug the power cord back into the PC.
STEP 3:
Restart PC
That's it. It worked! Must be some strange soft reset built into the motherboard.
Computer's gotta love em
